Equal Respect for All Faiths: Muslim Prayer Rooms at Cochin Airport Highlight Need for Ayyappa

Dear devotees of Lord Manikantha, Dharmasastha, and Ayyappa Swami,
I recently had the divine blessing of attending the Global Ayyappa Conclave on 20th September 2025. I extend heartfelt gratitude to the Kerala Government and the Travancor
e Devaswom Board for organizing this spiritually enriching event.
However, I now raise a serious concern that affects thousands of Swami devotees across Bharat: the non-allowance of coconuts in flights, especially those carried as part of the sacred Irumudi kettu during Swami Deeksha.
🚫 At several Indian airports, devotees are being forced to discard Lord’s prasadam—including coconuts—out of fear of CISF security checks. This is deeply painful and unacceptable in a democratic and spiritually diverse country like Bharat.
🛫 Coconuts are not inherently dangerous. With proper screening and protective packaging, they can be safely carried. The issue stems from miscommunication and lack of awareness, not genuine security threats.
✈️ If lounges can sell sealed items post-security, and if prayer rooms for other communities are respectfully provided inside airports, why can’t Swami devotees be allowed to carry sacred items with dignity?
📢 We must collectively appeal to the Government of India, Ministry of Civil Aviation, and airport authorities to:
- Permit coconuts carried for religious purposes after proper screening.
- Provide clear guidelines and respectful handling of Irumudi items.
- Ensure no devotee is forced to discard prasadam out of fear or confusion.

🙏 అయితే, ఇప్పుడు నేను ఒక గంభీరమైన సమస్యను ప్రస్తావించదలచుకున్నాను — అది ఇరుముడి కట్టులో భాగంగా ఉండే కొబ్బరికాయలను విమానాల్లో తీసుకెళ్లడాన్ని భద్రతా సిబ్బంది నిరాకరించడం.
🚫 భారతదేశంలోని కొన్ని విమానాశ్రయాల్లో, CISF భద్రతా భయం కారణంగా భక్తులు ప్రసాదాన్ని డస్ట్‌బిన్‌లో వేయడం వంటి బాధాకర సంఘటనలు జరుగుతున్నాయి. ఇది భారతదేశం వంటి ప్రజాస్వామ్య దేశంలో అసహనానికి గురిచేసే విషయం.
🛫 కొబ్బరికాయలు ప్రమాదకరమైనవి కావు. సరైన స్కానింగ్ మరియు రక్షణ ప్యాకింగ్‌తో భద్రంగా తీసుకెళ్లవచ్చు. ఇది తప్పుడు సమాచారంతో ఏర్పడిన సమస్య — నిజమైన భద్రతా కారణం కాదు.
✈️ విమానాశ్రయ లౌంజ్‌లలో స్కానింగ్ తర్వాత sealed items అందుబాటులో ఉంటే, మరియు ఇతర మతాల ప్రార్థన గదులు పురుషులు-స్త్రీలు వేర్వేరు గదులుగా అందుబాటులో ఉంటే, అయ్యప్ప భక్తులకు కూడా ఇరుముడి వస్తువులను గౌరవంగా తీసుకెళ్లే హక్కు ఉండాలి.
📢 కావున మనం భారత ప్రభుత్వం, నాగర విమానయాన మంత్రిత్వ శాఖ, మరియు విమానాశ్రయ అధికారులను కోరాలి:
- ఇరుముడి కొబ్బరికాయలు స్కానింగ్ తర్వాత తీసుకెళ్లేందుకు అనుమతించాలి.
- స్పష్టమైన మార్గదర్శకాలు ఇవ్వాలి.
- ప్రసాదాన్ని విసిరేయాల్సిన పరిస్థితి భక్తులకు రాకుండా చూడాలి.
